Winter Park Resort is around 90 miles from Denver International Airport and takes about two hours to get there depending on traffic. The most direct route to Winter Park is to take I-70 north to Highway 40, then north through Empire, a small town with a minimal population.

The route from Denver to Winter Park is well-kept, i.e. it is plowed regularly. The Berthoud Pass is a well-traveled route.
